St. John the Baptist
Can anyone tell me what is happening in this picture? Jesus is being baptized. Who is the person beside Jesus? St John What is he pouring on Jesus? Water What is he using? A shell What is Jesus standing in? Water?Who are those other people? Angels How many Angels? Three What is above the head of Jesus? A bird What kind of bird? A dove That is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. What is the person doing in the background? Getting undressed Why? Because he is next to be baptized
In remembrance of John baptizing Jesus with a shell we are going to make a shell chime.
Craft:
We use two straws for each child, and tie in the center. We have children color pictures of shells, and punch holes in the shells with a punch. We then tie the paper shells to the straws and we have a little mobil
Sign language story: The silk worm and the spider
The silkworm received orders from the King Lion to make 20 yard of silk. The silkworm eagerly started working on the task. A spider came down on one of her silk threads. As she created her web she talked about how beautiful her webs are, and how fast she can complete her webs. The silk worm then told her you may work fast and build beautiful webs, but the webs only serve a purpose for you. I make beautiful things that last for generations, and serve many people.
Drama:
We add the characters (King Lion, silkworm, and a spider) to a hat. The children draw out a character and act as the character with no words. The other children then guess what character the children are acting as.
