Jesus with the Little Children
What do you see? Jesus is with the little children. This is a stained glass window. Many years ago in France people wanted to show God how much they loved him by making him huge churches. People did not have a lot of money, but they could work hard to show God what they were capable of doing. Not only did they make huge beautiful churches, but also they made huge stained glass windows in the church. This is one of the stained glass windows.
Do you see the mother encouraging her child to go to Jesus? Do you see the bird? What kind of bird is it? What does the bird symbolize?
Craft: Wax paper stained glass windows
Sign language story: The wind and the sun.
The wind and the sun were arguing which was stronger. Suddenly they saw the traveler coming down the road and the sun said the one that is able to make the traveler take off his coat shall be regarded as the stronger. The sun hid behind a cloud and the wind began to blow as hard as he could blow. The traveler wrapped his coat around him tighter. The sun came out and shone all his glory upon the traveler, who soon found it to hot to walk with his coat wrapped around him.
Drama:
We add the characters (Sun, Wind, and the traveler) to a hat. The children draw out a character and act as the character with no words. The other children then guess what character the children are acting as.
