Many people have asked about us and wanted to know who and what we are, so we thought it's about time we sat down and done so.

MIMAnet, it is the homepage of Roberto and Kimberly, it's creators. Yes you have read correctly, it's our homepage.

What started out to be several pages for my wife Kimberly, pointing people to links for Educational Resources, and constantly fighting with Yahoo to get listed, has turned into a datacenter with multiple network connections, server clusters, mail centers, web clusters, UPS's, standby generators, backups systems, and more, and completely self sufficent and last but not least, broken bank account.

My background of 20+ years is computer engineering, networking and systems designs. Kimberly's is Art Historian, Early Childhood Education, and Aquatic's Instructor. Together, we thought we would create this site, we hope that you find this site enjoyable and useful.

MIMAnet offers many resources like Free Email, Free Website, Web Rings, Weather & News, Chat, URL Forwarding, Reminders, Forums, Webmaster Scripts, Stores, myMIMAnet, Hosting, Guestbooks, and much more and always more coming. But the most important thing is that MIMAnet is a user driven site, you the user can add urls to our site without payment like most other large portals, you the user have input to what goes on here with our content and design layout. Our new version 2 layout was user driven.

MIMAnet does not sell it's user base for operating revenue and we do not push advertising in your face like some other sites, we keep all user information confidential. Instead we took a different approach, yes we have a few ads on our pages, but our main source of operating revenue comes from our users buying merchandise from our stores and buying our scripts. We have a high monthly operating cost for power, fuel, maintenance, and networking, all revenue collected from various sales and donatations are applied to those costs and the balance is paid for by us. So, please shop at our stores, you will be happy with the services.

We do have to thank the many folks that have voluntered their time to put this all together. We would also like to thank Gossamer Threads and its great staff for helping us modify their code so that MIMAnet could have a its own unique style of link service.
